Watch For Patch in GH: The Movie!

Head writer for General Hospital, Richard Culliton, has been on board for just a few months. When our former head writer left abruptly to pursue other opportunities, the producers tossed Richard right in at the deep end. First thing he did was his homework, and lots of it, and it’s paying off. It was he who decided to bring back the Cassadines. It’s no longer just Stefan and Nikolas, family members are popping up all over town! Indeed there seems to be a Cassadine in everyone’s life! Things are heating up in Port Charles- way to go Richard!
When Carly seduced Tony, Bobbie got so furious, she darted off to some unnamed Latin country to file for a quickie divorce. Bobbie is still reeling from this and, suddenly, is vulnerable. It doesn’t take Stefan long to move in. And it takes even less time for them to wind up in the sack together! What better way for Stefan to get even with Luke than by marrying his sister!
That’s one great thing about GH. Many of the characters are good people but, and this is where art imitates life, nobody’s perfect. Even the best people on this show are inclined to mess up every once in a while. Like Tony. And Bobbie. Hell, even Katherine is up to her fourth lover! And now, with Mac so intent on helping Felicia that he’s neglecting Katherine, young Nikolas has entered the picture. Just think, oh no, now I’m playing the older woman!
I remember on Days of our Lives, the producers paired Kayla with “Patch” from the start. Kayla was with Steven from the first day of the show until the day he died. In fact, everyone on Days is either in love or wondering whether someone truly loves them. Those producers have perfected the supercouple formula. In comparison, GH characters seem much more complicated! It’s hard to compare the two soaps, but the quality of GH writing and acting puts it in a class of its own- just check out all of those awards.
NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS!
Here is the really big last minute news direct from the set! At the request of the network, Richard has created an action packed primetime GH TV movie. It will be the same GH we all know and love, featuring the same characters and actors, but it will be more like a Movie of the Week. How exciting! It’s the biggest development to happen to the soap in ages! And we will be shooting part of the movie on location– so some scenes will actually be shot outside!
Port Charles fans can rest assured there’ll be absolutely no shortage of intrigue! Air dates for here and the rest of the world are unconfirmed at this early stage. Plus, there’ll be something very special and exciting for all Patch and Kayla fans. Naturally, I can’t say what, but expect a big twist near the end of the movie- stay tuned!
